about

I wanted to have a big production centerpiece for the record and this is it. It started because I wanted to have my good friend Dione Taylor sing a cut on the CD. Then when I was out hearing my favourite Toronto band, Blackburn, and listening to Duane Blackburn sing it hit me. It should be a 70s style love duet, in the style of Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. I thought Dione and Duane’s voices would complement each other beautifully. You be the judge. Here I get to do my big string thing in the bridge. My wife Kim co-wrote the lyrics with me. I wanted it to be as steamy as possible. Kim came through….the first two lines are “What’s this state you’ve got me in? The sweat’s still drying on my skin.”
