The Boogaloo Lounge

about

This was the first track I wrote for the CD. The summer of 2010 was when most of the tracks were written, and when the concept took shape. This song just appeared under my fingers. The melody was strong, as were the unison lines the whole band plays. That summer was a tough one for me. My father had died suddenly the previous December and mortality was at the front of my mind. And suddenly the songs just started to come. My first solo CD at the age of 53. Go figure. This is shades of Curtis Mayfield here; a Blaxploitation vibe.
